Erica James
Erica James - Author of twenty-five bestselling novels. An Ideal Husband is now available to pre-order in hardback.
A quick flag up for you if you live near the Wirral. I'll be at Lingham's bookshop on the 9th May for an afternoon event. At first glance the tickets do look a touch pricey, but for that you get copy ofAn Ideal Husband and tea, coffee and cake. If you can make, it would be lovely to see you. Sue and her team put on a great evening last year when I went there to talk about A Secret Garden Affair.
Before then, this coming Thursday I'll be in Norwich for a combined event at Waterstones with Cressida McLaughlin. Rachel Hore will be hosting, so it's three authors for the price of one!

It's rained all morning here so I decided to cheer myself up by making mince pies. Well, there was an unopened jar of mincemeat lurking in the cupboard (leftover from Christmas) and it was absolutely crying out to be used.
In contrast, just look at the second photo which is a page of pure sunshine in today's Sunday Times colour supplement!
For all you lovely readers who have already been in touch to say how much you're enjoying An Ideal Husband, thank you so very much. The book does seem to have struck a chord with people.

Thank you all so much for the lovely messages yesterday. Today I had a gorgeous publication lunch with my editor at one of my favourite restaurants - the Talbooth in Dedham. It pops up in my new book, so it felt right that we should go there to celebrate publication for An Ideal Husband.
So here I am with my brilliant editor, Kate, who has worked with me for many years (ever since Love and Devotion in fact) so she knows me and how I work pretty well. The editor's role in the life of an author is extremely important and the relationship has to be based on mutual trust and respect, and there should always be time for some fun, and today's lunch was just that!

Heavens to Betsy and glory be, An Ideal Husband is finally launched, hurrah! Thank you to everyone who pre-ordered my latest novel (Book No.26!) and maybe bought it today, I'm enormously grateful to each and every one of you.
I had the chance this afternoon to call in to one of my favourite tearooms which I featured in An Ideal Husband. It's actually in Lavenham and called Tatum's Teahouse and I can assure you that the lovely owner, Freddie, makes the best scones! So if you're ever in the area, be sure to try them.
My publishers sent me the most beautiful publication day flowers and they certainly brightened another dull and showery day.
Toodle-pip for now and thank you again for all the support for my new book.
